About the Centre
The National Spinal Injuries Centre is one of the oldest and largest Spinal Injuries centres with an inpatient capacity for 106 adult patients and 9 adolescent and paediatric beds. It takes referrals from the South and East of England though, for children referrals are accepted for all of the British Isles and Ireland. It is able to accept patients for acute mangement of traumatic spinal cord injury and also patients requirng assisted ventilation. Over 20 % of our patient group has paralysis due to non traumatic impairment.
It has recently successfully completed the stringent Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilty review and achieved the highest level of award for the next 3 years.
